BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — An arrest has been made in the fatal shooting that took place near a church earlier this month, according to Boynton Beach Police. Rodney Lorenzo Askins has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. The shooting occurred at about 1:45 p.m. on November 15 near the intersection of Northeast Second Street and Northeast 12th Avenue.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A Kentucky teenager involved with a white supremacist group and a violent online group has been arrested in connection to a bomb threat made to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in August, according to an arrest affidavit. On August 16, 18-year-old Curtis Hodge of Louisville, Kentucky, was said to have called PBSO Dispatch at 1:44 p.m. with the bomb threat.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — West Palm Beach Police is actively searching for someone in the Intracoastal Waterway. WPBPD spokesperson Mike Jachles says they have an active scene near the 5,000 block of N. Flagler Drive. OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. — Four students were arrested for written threats to harm or kill, according to the Okeechobee Sheriff's Office. A joint threat assessment was launched by the sheriff's office and school district after a "serious incident" occurred at Yearling Middle School on September 26. A chat group was discovered with various threats made to others leading to the arrest of the four girls.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — West Palm Beach Police are investigating a shooting at a shopping plaza where two people were injured. Police said the shooting occurred late Friday evening outside of a food market at the South Wind Shopping Plaza near 45th Street and North Military Trail. Two people were shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still searching for a suspect but said this is believed to be a targeted incident and that there is no risk to the public.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla — The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is urgently looking for volunteers to foster its dogs and cats after the shelter's AC unit broke. The Humane Society posted on Facebook Thursday asking for people to foster an animal for seven days as repairs are done. Volunteers will be provided with all food, medicines, and other necessities during that time. Above-average temperatures in South Florida are also raising concerns for the animals' safety in the shelter.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for a fatal overdose from earlier this year. An investigation into the death of a man from February was launched by the Boynton Beach Police Department's Violent Crimes Task Force after the autopsy report revealed he had died of fentanyl and cocaine intoxication. Isaiah Delgado was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were seriously injured in a car crash Monday afternoon causing a portion of Dixie Highway to shut down, the Martin County Fire Rescue said. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at Southeast Dixie Highway and Golf Trail. MCFR said two pickup trucks were involved in the crash, and the drivers of the vehicles were both airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital for treatment. The Martin County Sheriff's Office shared that the area has since reopened on Facebook.

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — A 17-year-old was arrested after a teen was gunned down at a Wawa in Riviera Beach last week. The incident occurred Wednesday night at a Wawa located at 7289 Garden Road. The shooting claimed the life of one minor and injured another minor who suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Riviera Beach The 17-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday and taken into custody without incident, police said. He was later turned over to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
