Tumor mutation profiling (MP) is increasingly used to guide therapeutic care in oncology. However, knowledge of the meaning of genetic variation is still accruing and MP is still commonly undertaken within the research context. This often requires obtaining access to samples previously excised during clinical care. Tissue samples are stored in a variety of settings, including by both publicly and privately funded entities.

AbstractGenetic counselling and testing have utility for people with palliative care needs and their families. However, genetic and palliative care health professionals have described difficulties initiating palliative-genetic discussions. Between March and July 2022, we received n = 73 surveys (6% response rate) from genetic and palliative care health professionals in Australia and New Zealand that assessed and compared barriers and facilitators.

Excitement was in the air at Marriott House and Lodge in Chichester where residents and staff have been busy making Coronation-themed decorations and baking up a storm of red, white and blue cakes and pastries with the help of their head chef in preparation for the King’s Coronation on May 6. Staff and residents at the home put their heads together and came up with a plan for their celebrations fit for a King.

1. IntroductionPalliative care has always included spiritual care (Saunders et al. 1981; Saunders 1967; Mount 1976). The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently reaffirmed that ‘palliative care improves the quality of life of patients and that of their families who are facing challenges associated with life-threatening illness, whether physical, psychological, social or spiritual’ (World Health Organization 2020).
