When a person’s breathing or heart stops, CPR can save their life but only if it’s given quick enough.

Crews responded and were able to put out an overnight house fire in northeast Atlanta. The house fire was reported at 2595 Ashford Rd. NE around 3:45 a.m. Monday. Residents told fire officials that a candle was lit in a prayer closet in the house and they thought it was out but it reignited. Fire officials were told that smoke filled the bedroom. Firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out. No word was given on any damage.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A two-alarm fire destroyed a daycare under construction Monday morning near Interstate 485 and the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County line. Chopper 9 SkyZoom was over what was left of the building in a construction site located near an apartment complex along Rocky River Road in Harrisburg. About 61 firefighters responded to what was going to be an Everbrook Academy daycare. Construction workers managed to escape and no injuries were reported.

The wildland team specializes in fighting wildfires in Round Rock, whose work has become especially relevant with wildfires in recent months. Continuing drought conditions could increase the risk of wildfires this summer according to RRFD.
