VIDEO: Newton Volunteer Fire Department along with multiple other fire departments responded to a church fire Saturday evening. The fire happened at the First Assembly of God church in Newton. Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department, Trout Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Bon Wier Volunteer Fire Department, and East End Volunteer Fire all responded to Newton VFD’s call for assistance, according to Burkeville VFD Chief Charles Duckworth.

Beech Grove Fire Department is adding a seasoned veteran to its ranks to help train the next generation thanks to a generous donation from Hardin County Emergency Services. Engine 22, a fire truck that faithfully served Hardin County Emergency Services District 2 (ESD 2) for nearly 30 years, is being donated to Jasper County’s growing fire training academy.

Gwinnett County firefighters responded to a house fire in Snellville on Tuesday. Firefighters said the fire in the 4100 block of Rosebud Park Drive was so intense that it was melting the vinyl siding of the two neighboring houses. Crews were able to contain the worst of the damage to the original house that caught fire. No one was injured in the fire, but the family did lose one pet. Electric vehicle catches fire in south Charlotte neighborhood

An electric vehicle caught fire at a south Charlotte house early Monday morning, prompting a large response from emergency crews. The car started burning on Normans Landing Drive in the Hamilton Lakes neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. A fire engine and hazardous materials truck were brought out by the Charlotte Fire Department, and at least three Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cars responded to the home. Firefighters appeared to have contained the fire to a small area.
30 agencies called to massive scrapyard fire in Gaston County

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A massive scrapyard fire in Gastonia triggered a huge emergency response Monday afternoon, with around 30 agencies called in to help, including some from out-of-state. The blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. at Metal Recycling Services on Highway 321 between Robinson and Crawford roads. Crews were at the recycling plant for about five hours as plumes of smoke filled the sky.
Council members approve $10 million to replace Fire Station 4 in Greenville

In Monday night’s city council meeting, council members unanimously approved $10 million to replace Fire Station 4. Officials said the new fire station will be built on Park Avenue, behind the old station on what used to be a park maintenance facility. The building has already been bulldozed and the site cleared. Orange County appoints Anthony Rios as new fire chief

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has appointed Anthony Rios to lead the Orange County Fire Rescue Department. Rios is a 24-year veteran of the department, having joined in November 2000 as a firefighter/paramedic. He most recently served as deputy fire chief of administration under the outgoing Chief James Fitzgerald. “I have full confidence that Chief Rios will fulfill his new role with the same unwavering commitment to public service that has defined his career,” said Mayor Demings.

Firefighter hospitalized after fire at east Tampa commercial facility

PHOTOS: A firefighter was taken to the hospital after battling a fire at an East Tampa commercial facility Monday morning, according to first responders. Tampa Fire Rescue said they responded to the fire, which happened in the 4000 block of East Broadway Avenue at 10:45 a.m. They said the commercial facility had smoke and fire coming from the roof when firefighters arrived at the scene. Dense smoke spread throughout the building, which caused visibility inside to decrease, according to officials.
