Scotts Bluff County Election officials and volunteers manning area polls were left busy throughout the day and election officials were pleased with the turnout. According to numbers Tuesday evening, 15,162 of the county’s 23,089 registered voters in Scotts Bluff County cast a ballot. Of those final tallies, 5,335 people opted to vote early. “We are usually the second lowest in the state,” Scotts Bluff County Deputy Clerk Kyna Ballinger said.

The holiday season is in full swing following Santa’s arrival in the Panhandle, and his appearance at a pair of annual parades in Gering and Scottsbluff over the weekend. Festivities began with the Gering Merchants Association’s annual downtown Holiday Parade on Friday, Nov. 29.
