The county has started using chatbots to answer questions about civil cases, small claims court, and traffic infractions. According to court officials the new chatbots will increase accessibility because they are available online 24 hours a day.     Karl Holmberg was stabbed and killed in San Francisco in 1991 now police are offering a $100,000 reward for information in the case. According to San Francisco Police on August 3, 1991 30-year-old Holmberg was attacked by a group of young men near Hayes and Laguna Streets. San Francisco Police said after he was stabbed Holmberg walked two blocks to Fell Street where he collapsed. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he died.

    New data from the California Department of Finance shows the state's population grew in 2024, the second year in a row. California's population grew by 108,000 people last year. As of January 2025, there are 39,529,000 people living in California, making it the most populous state in the nation. According to the California Department of Finance there was net growth of births compared to deaths in 2024. Enrollment in K-8 schools increased by 13,890 students compared to 2023.
