ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) - A Missouri teenager’s life has been cut short after he was hit by a driver earlier this year. The Thompson family said their 16-year-old son King Thompson loved people and was just making plans for his future. He had big dreams of going to college and playing professional football, but now his family is planning for his funeral. “Bad things happen every day in St. Louis and you never think it’s going to hit your front door,” Thompson’s stepmom LaRhonda Townsend said.

(First Alert 4) - Hockey players, friends, loved ones and supporters packed the Centene Community Ice Center to remember 16-year-old Colin Brown. “I want his memory to go on far beyond my lifetime,” says Affton Coach, Bob Jakubeck. The hockey star’s life was cut short the day before Thanksgiving 2024. Brown was riding with his dad on Interstate 55 when he was hit by a stray bullet, He died a short time later.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) – A deputy in St. Louis died from a medical emergency during his morning shift on Wednesday, officials said. St. Louis Sheriff Deputy Dennis Boyd, 50, collapsed and was found unresponsive outside of headquarters during his morning shift. “Got out of his car and fell dead,” said St. Louis Sheriff Vernon Betts. Betts said staff members rushed to Boyd and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The 20-year veteran died at the hospital.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) - A woman is suing a former Missouri police officer who she claims copied photos from her phone during a traffic stop that showed her and her husband naked. The case of John and Jane Doe versus the unnamed officer and the City of Florissant was filed Friday in St. Louis County. The plaintiffs allege counts of invasion of privacy, emotional distress and trespass against the officer and counts of negligence against the city, KMOV reports.

(KMOV/Gray News) - The death of a 44-year-old Missouri man with autism in a neighborhood pond has motivated his family to take action, hoping to ensure the tragedy leads to positive change. Darran Hutson’s loved ones continue to mourn the 44-year-old man, who had autism and was nonverbal, after he drowned June 14 in a pond in the St. Charles County subdivision of Walnut Creek. He walked into the water and was never seen alive again, KMOV reports.
