OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – An Oklahoma man is being charged with making a bomb threat involving a future Okaloosa County tourist attraction. Cherokee Police and Alfalfa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Trey Everts Roots on Wednesday. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s investigators said Roots made a bomb threat over the internet back on March 28th. Authorities said Roots was apparently upset over Okaloosa County officials buying the Oceanliner S.S. United States and future plans for the ship.

According to a news release, the east and west-bound lanes of 388 are shut down until further notice. It’s unknown at this time how long the closure will last, fire officials said. JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Ever since Hurricane Michael hit, Cottondale has had flooding problems. But city officials are hoping that will soon be a thing of the past. They broke ground Thursday afternoon on a new drainage project at Caney Stormwater Pond. The city received a community development block grant for disaster recovery, worth just under $4.5 million. The Caney Pond drainage basin includes everything in the area between Broad Street, Elliot Drive, Gilbert Lane, and Caney Landing Road.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Panama City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing teen. According to a news release, 15-year-old Nuriah Saffold was last seen on Thursday, April 17, around 3:15 p.m. Authorities said she was walking in the area of West 22nd Plaza and Drummond Avenue in Panama City. Nuriah is approximately 5’6, 130 pounds. She has long, braided hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a purple hoodie and gray shorts, authorities wrote.
