PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Bay County Emergency Services will open a warming shelter on Sunday, January 19 in anticipation of freezing temperatures. The shelter will be located at A.D. Harris Learning Village, on 819 E. 11th Street, Panama City, from 6 p.m. to 11 a.m.Organizers said they will open on Sunday and each evening throughout the week as necessary.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB)—Panama City Beach officials announced a temporary unavoidable water disruption on Monday morning, Dec. 9. It will affect customers between 9700-11695 PCB Parkway and all of Breakfast Point. After those affected by the water service disruption on Dec. 5, crews said another temporary water disruption would go into effect. Crews are expected to work on more extensive repairs.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Governor Ron De Santis announced $20 million in awards to small county governments and rural municipalities. This is through the Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIF). According to a news release, awards were made to 17 Florida communities for projects that will complete critical infrastructure and strengthen rural economies. “These investments will support infrastructure improvements, attract businesses, and create long-term economic success,” Governor Ron DeSantis said.

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man for the sale and possession of fentanyl on Friday. On November 27th, the Special Investigations Division concluded a narcotics investigation into 31-year-old Stefon Notlim Simmonds of Bay County. Initially, Simmonds was arrested for the sale of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
