FLORIDA (WMBB) – The owners of a Panhandle medical business are facing charges involving false insurance billings. The U.S. attorney for North Florida has filed a complaint accusing Ruben and Lorrie Laurel of billing the federal government for services they did not provide to patients. Ruben and Lorrie Laurel own and operate Chipley Physical Therapy in Chipley and Bonifay. Lorrie Laurel also owns and operates Absolute Physical & Aquatic Therapy in Marianna.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – State Senator Jay Trumbull has confirmed that another dolphin has died at Gulf World Marine Park on Wednesday. The post claims this is the second dolphin to die at the park since March and the fifth since last October. Trumbull called it part of a disturbing and unacceptable pattern. The park also closed unexpectedly and will remain closed until June 3rd. The problems began at the park around the same time the first two dolphins died in October.

GULF COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – A track coach has resigned from Port St. Joe High School following allegations of battery on a student. According to the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are investigating Keion McNair after they were made aware of the allegations on Thursday evening. Deputies wouldn’t comment anymore on their investigation. Gulf District Schools Superintendent Jim Norton said McNair tendered his resignation Friday morning.
