UPDATE as of 11:00 a.m. An early morning crash has led to the death of one person and significant delays on the eastbound side of the Hathaway Bridge on Tuesday. The driver has yet to be identified and the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. and caused traffic that stretched from the flyover of the eastbound lane heading into the city all the way to Moylan Road along Back Beach Road.

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida raised money while sharing the thrills of the city that never sleeps. The non-profit hosted ‘The Big Event: A Night in Vegas’ at FSU-PC’s Holley Center on Saturday. Guests experienced casino-style games, drinks, dinner, and music on Saturday at FSU-PC. This is the non-profit’s biggest fundraiser for the Bay county agency and every dollar raised Saturday night will stay in Bay county.

May was killed Wednesday in the line of duty. Those wishing to donate are encouraged to write a check and mail it to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at 10 Sheriff Circle, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433, with a note for Deputy William May’s family.
