MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The City of Memphis has filed a motion to unseal a number of documents in the federal case against the five former officers related to Tyre Nichols’ death. Attorney Bruce McMullen filed the motion on behalf of the City of Memphis and Police Chief CJ Davis, requesting 17 documents be unsealed. Among the documents are discovery requests for at least three of the former officers.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Tuesday, a Memphis City Council committee voted in favor of adding license plate readers to interstates around the city. Ninety-four cameras will be implemented to start with. Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis says the cameras will first be put at entrance and exit ramps where there is high volume of traffic. They will be used to help track suspects wanted for crimes like robberies or carjackings. Davis says this will not work on paper tags.
