The business is the downsized offspring of Nunyuns Bakery & Café, which closed last May after 16 years as an Old North End mainstay. click to enlarge Gabrielle Kammerer, founder of Tomgirl Juice, has launched a delivery business, Wilder Vermont, that sells the colorful, fresh-pressed juices and smoothies for which her shuttered Burlington juice bar was known. Kammerer, 43, started Tomgirl in 2012, delivering juice around Burlington by bicycle. Two years later, she opened a storefront on St. Paul Street.

Co-owner Mahati Mohamed, 33, said he and his business partners plan to share their Egyptian, Iraqi and Moroccan heritages with a menu of shawarma and falafel wraps, doner kebabs, salads, and dips.

Cao, now 26, was born in Vietnam and worked at several Korean restaurants to pay her way through university in Australia.

click to enlarge Burlington is not a steakhouse town. Farm-to-table restaurants? Check. Brewpubs? Check. Artisanal pizza joints? Check, check, check. But if you seek a classic steakhouse with aged, Midwest-raised, corn-fed, certified prime beef, EB Strong's Prime Steakhouse owns the Queen City game. Not much of a steakhouse-goer myself, I have eaten there only a few times over its 13-year tenure at the top of Church Street.
