Cyclists in the naked bike ride at the 2019 Fremont Solstice Parade. Photo: Genna Martin/Seattlepi.com via Getty ImagesMore than 30 years ago, a few naked bicyclists crashed the Fremont Solstice Parade — an unsanctioned stunt that has grown into one of Seattle's signature summer spectacles. Why it matters: The body-painted riders are a symbol of the city's expressive, offbeat spirit, kicking off a summer parade known for giant puppets, dancers and DIY art.

Why it matters: Supporters say the law will boost public safety by helping keep guns out of the wrong hands. Opponents argue it infringes on Washingtonians' constitutional gun rights.

Crying over my monthly child care bills (which are actually way higher than this in Seattle) https://t.co/Xzph4dX4tC #waleg

The FBI is scrutinizing what happened at dueling Seattle protests over the weekend, while some locals are questioning why the city permitted a Christian group with anti-trans views to hold a rally in the city's historically LGBTQ+ neighborhood. https://t.co/BjOjESGxu1

Right now @GovBobFerguson just signed legislation to increase state capital gains tax and estate tax, as well as to adjust sales taxes, to help pay for the state budget. No major vetoes yet and not many bills to go. #waleg
