As thousands of people join the Yoorrook Justice Commission’s historic Walk For Truth across Victoria in coming weeks, organisers hope the Victorian Government will feel a growing pressure to enact the historic truth-telling body’s final report recommendations. The recommendations, Commissioner Travis Lovett told walkers this week, will be about creating a better Victoria for everyone. He urged the Government to respond promptly, and not use the negotiations for Treaty as an excuse for delay.

In the Swiss Alps, where glaciers are becoming more unstable as global temperatures rise, a village was buried this week by the collapse of a huge portion of a glacier (residents and livestock were evacuated earlier this month following warnings about cracks in the glacial ice).

Ned Hargraves, a senior Warlpiri elder, said his community wanted “answers and justice” for his grandson, who had been living in supported accommodation in Alice Springs because of his disabilities.
