Six days after informing Galway Downs officials that the Temecula, California, venue would not host the 2028 Olympic equestrian events, the LA28 organizing committed announced today that Santa Anita Park has been confirmed as the new Olympic equestrian venue. The Arcadia, California, racetrack has a history with the Olympics. “The FEI has very fond memories of Santa Anita, which had hosted the equestrian events at the 1984 Olympic Games,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said in a press release.

British Olympic Champion Ben Maher ended his 2025 season in Wellington, Florida, with back-to-back victories on the grass derby field. On Saturday, he earned a victory in the $32,000 KeyFlow USA CSI3* 1.45-Meter Speed Classic with Exit Remo, then he returned Sunday in the irons of Ginger-Blue to win the $120,000 Bainbridge Companies CSI3* Grand Prix.

One day after announcing Olympic show jumper Erynn Ballard as its 2024 Equestrian Of the Year, Equestrian Canada has “paused the award” due to concerns regarding a video of Ballard. “We are aware of concerns regarding a video involving our award recipient for Equestrian Of The Year,” EC wrote on Facebook and Instagram. “The video is under review in accordance with our safe sport policies, which are administered by our independent third-party complaints process.
