The call came in at 6: 09 a.m. Authorities said the fire initially spread to some trees and possibly even a nearby vehicle, but fire fighters were able to put it out fairly quickly once they arrived on scene. No injuries have been reported, and investigators are on scene looking into the cause.

The beloved community figure's obituary says that the 68-year-old, "went home to be with his Creator on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family." On Thursday, Salazar's loved ones will recite a Holy Rosary for him at 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 2509 Nogales and MacArthur Street.
