Victor Ambros, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, has gained international recognition once again as he’s been named one of TIME100’s most influential people in health of 2025. Ambros was selected for the list along with his Nobel win partner Gary Ruvkun of Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Twenty years after he first started volunteering for the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster, Jeff Bercume has been named the organization’s new CEO. Bercume comes to the nonprofit having most recently served as director of ecommerce from Berry Global, an Indiana-based plastics manufacturing company, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Marlborough-based medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific has announced a long-term member of its C-suite will be stepping down as Dan Brennan, the firm’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, has announced his upcoming retirement. After having served as CFO of Boston Scientific since 2014, Brennan will retire from his executive leadership roles at the end of June.

The board of trustees of Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester are standing by the college’s President Luis Pedraja after union members issued a vote of no confidence in the QCC leader last week. Members of the QCC chapter of the Massachusetts Community College Council labor union returned their no-confidence vote on April 15 after the school chose not to reappoint three faculty and professional staff members who are people of color.
