On November 11, 2024, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) published a consultation on proposed revisions to the UK Stewardship Code 2020 (the Code). The FRC recently published a consultation on proposed revisions to the UK Stewardship Code 2020. In our opinion the consultation represents as refreshingly logical, balanced and pragmatic approach to stewardship reporting. This approach, if successfully adopted, will underpin constructive engagement between companies and shareholders.

In the second of our publications on the FCA’s Consultation Paper (CP23/31) setting out its detailed proposals for listing rules reforms, we take a closer look at what the proposals mean for the sponsor regime. The FCA intends to implement the proposals regarding sponsor competence in spring 2024 within the existing Listing Rules, and then carry the regime across to the new UK Listing Rules (UKLR) when they are implemented at the start of the second half of 2024.
