F2P game monetization is generally a mess these days. The massive amounts of psychological factors built in by companies are specifically designed, in most cases, to confuse you and prey on any addictive traits you may have. Some of the "main" features we see are somewhat easy to understand. Battle passes, for example. Shell out a few bucks and earn some rewards as you "level" the pass. The free version keeps those of you that don't want to spend cash flush with prizes, too.

Open Beta 8 starts for SMITE 2 today and that means the F2P MOBA is seeing a few new items, balance changes, a new ported god, and a highly-requested feature. The new feature comes in the way of a "God Builder" tool. Now you can layout your favorite loadout for any given god before matches even begin. Save the loadouts, export them for friends, import that build you saw someone else run, and even replace the "recommended" build in a match by pinning your preferred build if you like.

Delta Force brings their F2P shooter to mobile devices today allowing PC players to take their progression on the go. The mobile version sports a 24v24 warfare mode, a special extraction mode, quests, and the ability to take the fight to your foes in land, air, and sea vehicles. Yes, cross-progression with PC is also supported. Speaking of PC, players on the platform aren't being left out in the cold today as a new season drops. Season Eclipse Vigil introduces a new operator named Nox.

I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm a bit weird. Ok, wait, let me clarify. I know I'm weird, but when it comes to a specific genre of online games, I'm wondering if I am in the minority. I play a ton of the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game (FFTCG). If you didn't know they had one, you aren't alone. All of its players lament how "not publicized" the title seems to be by Square Enix and Hobby Japan.

Fans of parkour games received a bit of bad news this week when Makea Games announced that the studio would be closing. This meant that parkour game Supermoves wouldn't be able to guarantee any future updates or the maintaining of its online services. Offline modes should be fine, but the rest is still up in the air. However, if you still want to run around a virtual world like you have crazy skills you don't have in real life, there may be an alternative coming your way soon.

I guarantee that you cannot correctly guess what the game is actually about. https://t.co/zDDPOpVaFd

Old Way: Story chapter for $40, buy optional Dungeon DLC or sub for it New Way: Entire season for $50, no option to skip buying dungeons for story only. But optional sub already included dungeon DLC. So subs pay for dungeons twice P.S. Timed events for FOMO? WTF @TESOnline....

Ha, a @TMobile commercial comes on bashing Verizon for raising rates...just days after texting me that due to reviews of older plans, I was going to be charged $5 per line more each month. Time to check out those Verizon rates, I guess.
