Fast food chain McDonald’s was the biggest brand on out of home (OOH) media in the first quarter, PML’s Watch monitor indicates. Its investment in the channel accounted for 2.5 per cent of all OOH display value and included promotion of Eurosaver, McCrispy and breakfast offerings along with tie-ins with the Minecraft movie and Stormzy. Vodafone and Burger King completed the top three brands while Cadbury and Avonmore also feature in the top ten.

Red C Research has reshuffled its management team following an announcement that the agency’s co-founder and managing director Sinead Mooney (pictured) will retire in May. Mooney and Richard Colwell co-founded Red C in 2003 having worked together at Lansdowne Research. While she retires as Red C’s Irish MD, she will still act as a part-time consultant. As part of a management reshuffle, Ciara Reilly becomes the new managing director at Red C.

TBWA\Ireland has created a new campaign for Pilgrim Europe’s Denny pork foods – ‘Denny Time, Denny Place’ – bringing the brand’s portfolio under one creative umbrella for the first time. The campaign will be rolled out across TV, out of home, VOD, social, and digital channels. Ronán Jennings, strategy director at TBWA\Ireland, said they wanted to disrupt the typical Irish FMCG convention of food nostalgia and bring Denny into a more contemporary space.

Blanco Niño is this year’s winner of the Love Irish Food brand development award, earning the company a prize valued at €160,000 in marketing and advertising services. The bursary is presented in tandem with Global out of home advertising, Checkout, creative agency Goosebump and Marketing Network’s digital and social media division, Tilt. Based in Tipperary, Blanco Niño produces a range of Mexican tortillas.
