Bitty & Beau’s Winston-Salem location, at 411 W. Fourth St. downtown, will close at the end of May. Bitty and Beau’s is a chain of coffee shops founded by Amy and Ben Wright in Wilmington in 2016 as a way to offer employment to people with intellectual and development disabilities. Local franchisee Kelli Balash and husband Chris Balash have run the Winston-Salem location since 2022.

Dream Asia Food Fest is coming to the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds on May 17 and 18. The festival will be from noon to 10 p.m. each day. The event bills itself as the largest Asian food festival in the United States, with more than 70 food vendors. The festival also will include K-pop music performances, dancing and Japanese taiko drumming. More than 30 vendors are expected, selling crafts, souvenirs and more. There also will be workshops for lantern-making, tea ceremonies and more.

Fine Wines of NC will have its 2025 Awards Gala at 7 p.m. May 9 at the Millennium Center, 101 W. Fifth St. in downtown Winston-Salem. The event will include a reception with wine and appetizers, a sit-down wine dinner, and awards ceremony. Tickets are $199.26 a person. Fine Wines of NC, formerly the NC Fine Wines Society, is a nonprofit established to promote education related enology, viticulture and related subjects as they pertain to the North Carolina wine industry.
