IRMA, Wis (WJFW)- Two staff members at a Northwoods youth correctional facility were assaulted Monday by two teen inmates, and one of the staff members has died from his injuries. According to Lincoln County Coroner Valerie Caylor, the victim was identified as 49-year-old Corey Proulx. He was announced brain dead Tuesday afternoon. The suspect is 16-year-old Javarius Hurd. He is being charged with Felony Murder, 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide and two counts of Battery by Prisoners.

The first assault happened after the teen returned from outdoor recreation and attacked the first staff member. Then, the attacker turned to a second staff member who hit their head on the concrete.
