Recent changes with the Trump administration have changed the plan for getting them online. BEAD is the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment program that allows access to high-speed internet to be expanded through federal funding. The new “Benefit of the Bargain” or BEAD BOB program hopes to reduce costs.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (WJFW) — A 26-year-old male inmate at the Marathon County Jail died Sunday following a suicide attempt that occurred on June 1. According to a news release from Marathon County Sheriff's Office, the inmate was transported to a local hospital and remained under medical care until his death a week later. The incident occurred June 1 when other inmates alerted correctional staff to an unresponsive man in one of the housing units, the release said.
