    ALMOND, Wis. (WJFW) - At approximately 2:52 p.m. Wednesday April 16, the Portage County Communication Center received a report of a one vehicle crash with injuries on county highway w west of county highway bb in the town of Almond. Initial investigation revealed a sedan traveling eastbound on county highway w that crossed the center line entered the north ditch and struck a tree. The 77-year-old male operator from almond and lone occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

    MERRILL, Wis. (WJFW) — A Tomahawk woman accused of killing her husband pled not guilty Wednesday in Lincoln County Courthouse. Michelle Sanderson, 43, is accused of killing her husband in January. The defense filed a motion to dismiss the case which was denied Wednesday, according to court records. The court found probable cause that a felony has been committed and bound over into custody for further proceedings, records say.
