BIG TIMBER, Mont. — Three Montana National Guardsmen appeared virtually for their first Justice Court hearing in Sweet Grass County. Michael Bray, Deni Draper and Perry Woodland each face a criminal trespass to property charge after allegedly landing a helicopter on private property. If convicted, each could be fined up to $500 or imprisoned in the county jail for up to six months. All three men pleaded not guilty to their charges, and their attorneys had similar recommendations on bond.

BELGRADE, Mont. — It took the Belgrade High School robotics team months to plan, design, and assemble a robot to perform specific tasks at the FIRST Tech Challenge. Peyton and Parker Pitman are brothers and teammates. They 3D printed parts, designed the model of the robot, and drive the robot with these controllers. Parker Pitman joined the team in eighth grade, after watching his brother compete in a competition two years ago. “I was like that’s actually really cool. I want to do that.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — A new voice is reviving stalled talks between Gallatin County and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “I reached out to Sheriff Springer. Had a conversation with him. He was certainly willing to help out. They have some bed space at the Gallatin County Detention Center. And then those discussions reached the County Commission level,” said Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen. Knudsen said ICE reached out to him, before contacting Sheriff Dan Springer.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — City officials say two new Montana laws will create a significant policy shift in Bozeman. Gov. Greg Gianforte signed House Bill 492 and Senate Bill 243 into law this spring. HB 492 states any dwelling unit less than 1,200 square feet won’t have any parking requirements. SB 243 establishes a required minimum building height of 60 feet in industrial, heavy commercial and downtown areas.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Concerns over encroachment into a Bozeman Creek setback put a stop to plans for a new hotel in downtown Bozeman. Bozeman Creek has played a significant role in Bozeman’s history, shaping the city's early development back in 1864. Today, you can see the creek in places like outside of the city’s Town Hall. But in other areas of Bozeman, the creek is invisible -- like at 240 East Mendenhall near the proposed site of the Boutique Hotel.
