Ireland's most successful Olympic sport is now on course to return to the Olympic Federation of Ireland stable. The IABA had been out in the cold as it remained aligned to IBA, the controversial world body that is no longer recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

    Munster have returned to the west coast of France to take on Bordeaux-Begles for a place in the semi-finals of the Champions Cup. The Reds defied the odds to seal a 25-24 victory over La Rochelle last weekend in a nail-biting clash. Their reward is another trip to France to take on a Bordeaux outfit that are enjoying a great season. Bordeaux sit in second place in the Top 14 and won all four of their pool matches to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.

    For anyone who has ever competed in some sport at any level, there is generally one particular sport or athletic activity at which they excel. For me, it is running, whether recreationally or competitively. I discovered my talent for distance running early on when Mr. Head, our gym instructor at St. Mark’s, had us run a route of several blocks near the school as an alternative to the usual dodgeball or other such activities which we did in gym. This probably happened in either fifth or sixth grade.
