    A well-respected traffic garda has died after he was struck by a motorcycle while performing a speed check in Dublin. The officer, 49, who has been in the force for many years, worked out of Dublin Castle and was previously based out of Pearse Street Garda station. He died at the scene in Lanestown, close to Blake’s Cross in Lusk, Co Dublin on Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred around 1pm.
