RENTON, Wash. - As is the case across the league, the Seattle Seahawks' organized team activities are voluntary practices. Absences are typically excused, particularly in the case of proven veterans and players recovering from significant injuries. So, it's notable that everyone on Seattle's roster was present during the practices open to the media this week.

RENTON, Wash. - There are obvious similarities between the Seattle Seahawks' quarterback situation in 2012 and the current setup with Sam Darnold and rookie Jalen Milroe. Darnold is the high-priced, free-agent signee, just as Matt Flynn was in 2012. Milroe was drafted in the third round to be a backup, just as Russell Wilson was that same offseason. Wilson took Flynn's job that preseason and never looked back. There are obvious differences as well.

Three of the nine voluntary practices are open to the media next week (minicamp is open to the media as well).

Nick Emmanwori doesn't shy away from the comparisons to star safeties with similar physical profiles, nor the expectations that come with them. Derwin James, Kyle Hamilton, Kam Chancellor - it's all fair game to the Seattle Seahawks' rookie defensive back. "I love those expectations," said Emmanwori, so coveted by the Seahawks that they traded up to draft him with the 35th pick.
