    A Simi Valley man pleaded guilty in connection with the attempted assassination of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh nearly three years ago at his Maryland home. Nicholas John Roske, 29, was arrested near Kavanaugh’s residence in June 2022, carrying a gun, a knife, zip ties and tactical gear. Authorities said Roske, who had worked as a middle school and high school substitute teacher, traveled to the area by taxi just after 1 a.m. and arrived at Kavanaugh’s home with plans to kill him.
