A person was treated for burns after a house fire in Heysham. Firefighters raced to the scene of a house fire in Heysham. Fire engines from Bolton-le-Sands and Lancaster attended fire inside a domestic property on Middleton Road in Heysham at 1.26pm on June 2. The fire was out upon arrival of crews, and one casualty was given first aid for burns. Crews were in attendance for approximately ninety minutes. Continue Reading

A Lancaster doctor faces being struck off for self-prescribing and possession of drugs. Dr Andrew Foster will face a Medical Practitioners' Tribunal Service (MPTS) hearing today (Monday, June 2). The General Medical Council has made a series of allegations against Dr Foster. The GMC alleges that on September 14 2023, at Lancaster Police Station, Dr Foster accepted a caution for possession of a controlled drug.

Firefighters tackled an outbuilding blaze in Lancaster. Firefighters raced to the scene of an outbuilding on fire in Lancaster. Two fire engines from Lancaster and Morecambe attended an outbuilding fire on Windham Place, Lancaster at 7.05pm on June 1. Firefighters used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour. Continue Reading

Police are appealing for information and footage after two motorbikes were stolen in Heysham. Police said that overnight May 31 to June 1 a couple of motorbikes were stolen, and at least two more attempted to be stolen. One bike was stolen from the Sandylands Promenade area between 1am and 1.30am, and another stolen from Hillsea Avenue, Heysham between 1.45am and 2.20am and then found at Heysham Village toilets at 2.30am.

Steampunks flocked to Morecambe for the popular festival A Splendid Day Out with the theme ‘The Age of Dragons’. Visitors were greeted by Fang ‘the Red Terror’ and Olaf ‘the Ice Dragon’ stalking the streets around The Platform, before heading inside to find live music and entertainment alongside a fabulous indoor market of Steampunk-themed stalls and displays.
