If elected, these students will act as trustees of the Guild, representing the voice of over 35,000 students, earning over £25000 a year. James Fairweather and Francis Steptoe, running for Education Officer chatted about the low engagement with the Guild, their thoughts on AI, and the university’s academic mitigation system.

    0 Last year, the University of Exeter announced the launch of a new postgraduate degree in magic, the first of its kind in Britain. Exeposé had the honour of sitting in a lecture and chatting with the course convenor, Professor Emily Selove in October 2024, just one month after the degree officially started. Magic ‘has the power to excite people and make them think and debate, which is what the humanities are for’.

    0 ‘Question Time’ is the annual event in Exeter which attracts students from all sides of the political spectrum. Hosted by Politics Society, the student panellists included representatives from Labour Society, Conservative Society, and the Green Party Society. The audience roughly filled up the ground floor of Amory Moot Court, and their political views on the three motions were not asked beforehand.

    0 From 23 September 2024, David Game College will start the Sabrewing Programme – the UK’s first ‘teacherless’ teaching programme entirely driven by AI. The new teaching system is designed for no more than twenty GCSE students in each group. It has a comprehensive subject coverage which includes Mathematics, English, and the three branches of Science.
