June is going to be quite the busy month in the PWHL as the league announced plans for the Expansion Draft and roster building process for the two expansion teams, Seattle and Vancouver. It's a multi-step process for them to start building their teams from the existing teams' rosters leading up to the entry Draft on June 27th. Each of the six inaugural teams will lose four players to expansion. The two new teams will end the process with 12 players on their rosters.

There are 116 forwards, 56 defenders, and 26 goaltenders with 15 different countries represented. The players played in 18 different leagues last year. The last week in PWHL signings was quite the frenzy of activity, between contract extensions, draftees signing, and two splashy free agent moves! To quickly recap, from June 1 - 20 teams could re-sign players who were on their rosters last season. Starting on June 21, all unsigned players from last season became free agents and were free to sign with any team. TorontoBy far, the biggest move was forward Daryl Watts not being re-signed by Ottawa and instead going to Toronto on a two-year deal.
