Parents write a ‘poignant’ letter to their deceased son for their accused son’s court hearing in Windsor. Warning: contains graphic content. An 18-year-old from Lakeshore has previously pleaded guilty to second degree murder for killing his 12-year-old brother. The crime happened in April 2023 at the family home when the accused was 16 years of age. As a result, a publication ban prohibits the media from reporting the accused age or any evidence which might identify him.

Cancer survivors, doctors and supporters are getting ready to rappel a downtown Windsor high rise for a good cause. The ‘Show Us Your Brave’ fundraiser returns Saturday starting at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.Participants will rappel 170-feet down to the sidewalk of 100 Ouellette Ave, commonly referred to as the CIBC building. Organizers are very close to their $75,000 goal and are hoping supporters will venture downtown to cheer participants on and donate at the same time.

Canada’s Environment Minister has signalled the federal government will restart the electric vehicle rebate program. Speaking to The Canadian Press while leaving the House of Commons in Ottawa Tuesday, Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin said a renewed consumer rebate is something being worked on. “Will it be named, iZEV? That I can’t tell you. But there will be a consumer rebate,” Dabrusin said.
