    A Dothan man is in Houston County Jail after police say he fired a gun into an occupied vehicle Tuesday, striking a child under the age of 12. Octavenious Romarrio Thomas, 36, of Dothan is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree attempted assault, and shooting into an occupied vehicle, said Dothan Police Chief Will Benny Wednesday. He is being held on a $450,000 bond.

    TROY-A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday has claimed the life of a Troy man, and authorities are asking those with information to contact them. According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Administrative Bureau Director Capt. Jeremy Burkett, Wiley N.     A body was found inside a burning vehicle in the 3500 block of Napier Field Road Monday and Dothan Police are asking any person with information to call them. According to Dothan Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Scott Owens, just before 1 p.m. Monday police and fire units were dispatched to a vehicle on fire on Napier Field Road near the intersection of John D. Odom Road. “Dothan firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire and discovered a body in the vehicle,” Owens said.
