Residents threatened by scammers pretending to be College Station Police

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The College Station Police Department has released a public safety advisory after receiving several reports that scammers have been calling and threatening multiple residents. In a post on Facebook CSPD released a statement warning residents about scammers calling them from what looks like their number. Residents pick up the phone thinking CSPD is calling them only to have someone on the other line demanding money and threatening to hurt their family if they don't comply.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Texas A&M University Systems and NASA have announced an agreement to lease 240 acres of underutilized land in Exploration Park to develop a new research facility. Texas A&M plans to use the facility for human spaceflight research and development that will help the commercial space economy.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A new bakery promising lots of sweet gooey goodness is celebrating its grand opening in College Station by hosting a contest. Cinnaholic is a California-based bakery that specializes in plant-based baked goods like gourmet cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, and more. They got their start in 2010 and became well known for their 100% vegan cinnamon rolls. In 2014 they went on ABC's Shark Tank and pitched their company on national TV.

BRYAN, Texas — The Battle of the Badges Dodgeball Tournament event between the Byran Police and Fire Department, and College Station Police and Fire Department has been postponed due to weather. The four public service departments were originally scheduled to face off against each other on January 16, but due to below-average temperatures and the hard freeze leaving ice on roads, the event has been rescheduled for January 30.

The Navasota Animal Shelter is in need of your help. To keep all the shelter animals warm they are calling for donations of tarps and blankets as well as PVC beds.
CSISD names Chris Southard as new principal of College View High

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Chris Southard, principal at Spring Creek Elementary, was named as the new principal for College View High School by The College Station ISD Board of Trustees at a meeting on Dec. 12. Southard goes into the job with 27 years of experience in education, seven of which have been in campus administration. He served as the assistant principal at College Station High School from 2016 – 2021 and was named principal of Spring Creek Elementary in the summer of 2021.
