Town Manager Andrew Meadwell said in last week’s town council meeting that the town “found out like most of you when we saw the equipment being unloaded,” adding that this is a NCDOT resurfacing project. “This project was let, I think, two years ago,” he said.

She was born Nov. 27, 1958 in Davie County to the late Green Barnes and Nina Jean Howard Barnes. Nita was a life-long member of Bailey’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer of the cemetery fund, and on the children’s committee.
