It was not only opening night for the players of the Montreal Alouettes last Friday night at McGill’s Molson Stadium, a game that saw the home team defeat the Toronto Argonauts 28-10. The 2025 version of the Alouettes Dance Team made its debut as well, guided by Joëlle Bourdeau, Sidney Ginchereau, Noëlle-Émilie Desbiens and Lili-Pierre Landry of Innova Danse in South Shore St. Basile le Grand.

It has been a terrific time for entertainment in Montreal. Former Montreal Canadiens enforcer Chris Nilan gained notice in the city, of course, as a hockey player. When he decided to move back to our city permanently more than a decade ago, he did so as a TSN 690 Radio show host and a motivational speaker. When Nilan refused to get vaccinated for COVID-19, Bell Media dismissed him from TSN 690 as part of a company policy.
