by: Mike LaPoint Posted: May 21, 2025 / 05:54 PM CDT Updated: May 21, 2025 / 05:55 PM CDT Quiet weather will continue through Wednesday night. Low storm chances will return on Thursday afternoon across portions of North Texas. While widespread severe weather doesn’t look likely at this time, a couple of storms could be strong to severe with large hail as the main threat.

Storm chances will increase Friday afternoon and evening, isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible (30 percent chance) along and east of a dryline extending from southeast Oklahoma into the Texas Hill country. Capping will be weaker on Friday compared to Thursday, so there is more confidence that a few storms will develop in our area. Storms that develop should still remain isolated, and as a result, the majority of us should still remain dry.
