On April 30 the TH ran a political cartoon which very much put into focus the upcoming budget bill in Congress. The cartoon depicts a man walking past a bank which has a sign on it that says the bank deposits are insured by the government and continues on to make the observation that it is the same entity that is presently $36 trillion in debt. At first — pen in hand — I started doing the math, I soon turned to Google.

Matt Patterson, of Barbourne, turned to therapy after feeling ‘lost’ in his early 20s.

2 1/1 THE cacao not champagne will be flowing when a new drink and drug-free festive bash is staged in Worcester. The solstice celebration will start with cacao to give the spirits a lift, a tai chi taster to warm up the body followed by a chance to groove to a two-hour set by city DJ Ed Steelefox. And the event, called the Woo Town Cacao Club, will end with a sound bath to help everyone wind down.

COUNTY musicians will be playing some timeless grooves at a top Worcester venue this evening. Colin Warren and John Denton from Malvern and Alan Davies and Robin Powell, Eckington, are part of The Fezz who will be performing the music of Steeley Dan at the Marr’s Bar. The Fezz are a five-piece band who aim to capture the spirit of the American group who shot to fame in the 70s and are renowned for classics such as Reelin in the Years and Rikki Don’t Lose That Number.

Members will also explain why they are practising Buddhists. Worcester Buddhist Centre chairman Nibbhaya, whose name means free from fear, explained the ethos of Buddhism involves a search for enlightenment.
