Legendary ESPN play-by-play broadcaster Mike Patrick, who spent 36 years at the network and was the voice of ESPN's Sunday Night Football coverage for nearly two decades, died on Sunday, April 20 in Fairfax, Va., according to a release from ESPN. He was 80 years old. Patrick called his first game for ESPN in 1982 and retired following the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 30, 2017.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has been officially listed as doubtful for Game 2 of the team's Eastern Conference first round playoff series with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Tatum bruised his right wrist after a hard foul by Magic wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope sent the Celtics star to the floor in the second half of Boston's Game 1 win on Sunday.

The Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball program has landed a commitment from 22-year-old Serbian prospect Mihailo Petrovic, his agent Misko Raznatovic told ESPN's Jonathan Givony. Petrovic is currently an MVP in the Adriatic League overseas, averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 assists per game for Mega Superbet PG. Petrovic's commitment is the fourth member of Brad Underwood's 2025 roster that hails from the Balkan Peninsula.
