‘Nonsense where nothing should’ve reigned’So the game against Liverpool might end up not really mattering for either team If we had lost however it would have been rather different. If the performance had continued in the second half the way we started the game then it could’ve mattered a whole lot. This is the time of year where perception rules. We are trying to purchase elite players or potentially elite players. We are trying to give our fans hope.

‘So much, so good, except the big bit’I’m not sure if I ever buy the idea that a team is ‘not ready to win ……….’Listening to people ramble on about Arsenal needing this or that before they can win is understandable and partially true. I have seen teams win the big prizes in my lifetime without being close to the level that Arsenal are currently at. Arsenal are well known for being one of the best (if not the best) out of possession teams in world football.

‘A snapshot of Arsenal’You meet a stranger. A football loving stranger. In a pub in Cornwall with a thatched roof and a beautiful beer garden. A pub that somebody reading this is going to buy for me one day. I speak it into existence. Skelly’s mum said that he does this kind of spiritual voodoo. Maybe Myles will buy me a pub? Or maybe you will due to your gratitude for my writing silly Arsenal blogs. A totally fair trade. Conversation quickly turns to Arsenal.

Menu ‘Eight ways to lose to Arsenal’A last minute winner might be the best way to win a football match. Or is it a thrashing? Perhaps a comeback? It might be a stroll? A game that’s without nerves. Enjoyable from start to finish. Or could it be a game against the world’s biggest club where you dispatch them easily in the first leg with a world class performance and world class goals?

I feel sorry for ArsenalIs sympathy an emotion that a football fan should feel? Aren’t we supposed to be elated or disgusted? Well, I feel sorry for us. I’m sure at the end of the season that I will write a piece sharing all of the emotions that we went through and come to the conclusion that it wasn’t one problem that saw us fall short in the league. For now, I just feel bad for the players, staff and fans. I think it was this tweet by James Benge that prompted this emotion.
