Before we turn our attention to the Frozen Four, today’s issue of the newsletter (#556) is a complete transfer portal update, with all of the activity over the last three days. Since the weekend, we’ve had 15 more entries and 29 commitments. Also, notes on Eric Lang’s hiring at RPI, Brendan Riley heading to Long Island, and it sounds like former Alaska Anchorage head coach Matt Thomas will be back in college hockey soon.

Merrimack is set to hire Joe Foley as its next athletic director. An official announcement is expected next week, but college officials confirmed Foley’s hiring. Foley has experience in several Power 4 conferences, including the Big 12, Big 10, and ACC. Foley has been a senior associate AD and assistant vice chancellor at TCU (Texas Christian University) since 2023. Before TCU, he spent seven years at Penn State as a senior associate AD for advancement.

Pandolfo points out that BU's discipline has gotten a lot better in the 2nd half. Saturday's national title games will feature the most-penalized team (BU, 13.3 PIM/G) vs. the least-penalized team (WMU, 5.8 PIM/G).
