ORLEANS–It will be a different looking Lake Region Lady Rangers softball team head coach Tim Plastridge will field this season. Six members of last year’s team, including multiple key starters, have moved on, and this year the Lady Rangers are welcoming in eight new players, all juniors, to the team. “While we lost players from graduation that combined consistent hitting, defense, and base running, I am excited for our returning players to have their moment,” said Plastridge.

NEWPORT–A relatively warm and partially sunny afternoon at the Prouty Beach tennis courts was the setting for the North Country tennis Falcons to play their season opener against the Montpelier Solons. JOPLIN, Mo. — It’s a $10,000 Tuesday for a local nonprofit. The Ronald McDonald House in Joplin—the recipient of an annual donation from the Freeman Auxiliary. It has had a deep connection to the organization for years. The money was raised through the gift shop inside Freeman West—as well as various fundraisers held throughout the year. I want the community to know that the Ronald McDonald house is a treasure in our community.

ST. JOHNSBURY–The track and field season got underway for the North Country Falcons and the Lake Region Rangers on a cold, wet, and dreary Saturday morning at the St. Johnsbury Academy. The host Hilltoppers would take home first place on the both the boys and girls sides, but our two local teams did pretty well themselves. The highest team finish was for the LR girls, who came in third place. The Lady Rangers were led by Brooklyn Hinton and Heather Alexander.
