The Detroit Lions used their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to further strengthen the interior of their defensive line when they picked former Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with the 28th pick. There have been some questions about Williams' abilities as a pass rusher, and some wonder about what his weaknesses are and what his ceiling could be.

The Detroit Lions finally got their edge rusher when they took Boise State’s Ahmed Hassanein in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Hassanein spent most of his life in Egypt until he moved to America around 2019. He became a solid football player and attended Boise State. On Friday, the NFL gave Hassanein an international exemption on its league transactions list. At this time, there is some confusion as to how exactly Hassanein qualifies.

There was no Lions' draft pick that was more exciting in the moment than Ahmed Hassanein. From telling Dan Campbell that he would die for him to getting engaged moments after the announcement on TV, this guy was exciting. Plus, his story to get to this point is probably going to be a Disney movie at some point. All the excitement has everyone wrapped up to the point where we sort of forget that Hassanein is still relatively new to the game of football.

The Detroit Lions' rookie mini-camp is going down on Friday, and we'll get to see some of the Lions' rookies in action and see what they can do. The Lions will also try out seven veteran players, including an edge rusher who once showed a lot of promise. Sometimes you speak it into existence a little bit. Earlier in the week, we suggested Gipson as a player the Lions should have some interest in. Now he's here for a tryout. This is the guy to keep an eye on this weekend.

Those Big Sean tickets went in like 5 seconds

Can definitely confirm that he’s not the only rookie who hates his new number

Don't go out and buy your #78 Tyleik Williams jerseys. The rookie DT said he's trying to get #91 (Levi Onwuzurike's number), but in the meantime: "I'm going to stick with it, make it look good."

Tyleik Williams did not participate on the first day of Lions rookie mini-camp, and it has nothing to do with the video from his Pro Day https://t.co/8FHZe8rxUC
