What do you know about Detroit brands? Better Made chips, Carhartt, Vernors, Ford, basically every national pizza chain out there right now. But there's one that stands out more than any, and that's Faygo. Faygo is ours and nobody else's. It's one of the most Detroit things around. That's why when Detroit Lions running backs Davif Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs appear in Faygo's new commercial, they cemented themselves into Detroit culture and Detroit lore forever.

Then you go to the draft, and the Lions take Tate Ratledge in the second round, and then double up on offensive linemen with the selection of Miles Fraizer in the fourth round. At the time, it was cool to see more offensive linemen, but the question was, "Why are there so many interior offensive linemen on this team right now?" The thing that really throws everyone off the scent of the idea that anyone could have known this would happen is Kevin Zeitler and Glasgow.

Frank Ragnow's retirement from the NFL came as a shock to Detroit Lions fans and media. The team may have known about it for some time, but we'll never really know. It's going to be difficult to move past it, but that's what the Lions will do. Now, moving forward, the Lions need to find the heir to Ragnow's throne. It seems at this time that it might be second-round pick Tate Ratledge or Graham Glasgow, but there is another who isn't getting a lot of focus on him right now, but should this summer.

The Detroit Lions had a huge news story break this morning when All-Pro center Frank Ragnow retired. But that's not all the news that's coming out of Allen Park on Monday. The Lions have made a transaction. They'll be waiving undrafted rookie Gavin Holmes and signing cornerback Divaad Wilson. Holmes was not with the Lions long, just a handful of weeks. Wilson has been in the eNFL for the last two seasons and has spent time with the Jaguars, Cardinals, and Giants.

There's just something about Detroit Lions players retiring, man. They seem to be elevated a little more, and that's probably because you never really seem to see them coming, and it's always the best players. Barry Sanders shocked everyone when he retired in 1998, and then Calvin Johnson shocked some people when he retired after the 2015 season. At least there were some rumors of the latter before it happened. Now Frank Ragnow is retiring while still in his 20s. It feels similar, doesn't it?
