Canada Post has announced a new collective agreement with its second largest bargaining agent that includes 11 per cent wage increases over three years for management positions in rural post offices. The settlement between Canada Post and the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association doesn’t impact ongoing negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. According to the CPAA website, a negotiated resolution was reached “with significant help” from an arbitrator.

In a statement posted to X, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said the federal government is assisting Canadians who want to leave the area. Commercial transportation options will be available for Canadians in Israel, the West Bank and Iran, Anand said. “This is in addition to ongoing efforts to assist Canadians attempting to leave Gaza,” Anand noted. We are assisting Canadians who want to leave the region impacted by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
