Two-time Trans Am Series champion Wally Dallenbach Jr. will be making his final ride in the series on Saturday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The 62-year-old Dallenbach is a former NASCAR racer is a two-time Trans Am champion who won back-to-back series championships in 1985 and 1986. He has raced part-time in the series in recent years. This year marks the 40th anniversary of his first victory in the series.

In January of 2018, just a few short months after finishing 18th in the 2017 season-ending NASCAR Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ben Kennedy traded his racing suit for a business suit. He was just 25 years old when he walked away from a nearly certain opportunity at a Cup Series racing career in exchange for a chance to help grow the sport he loves. While he's happy in his growing leadership role with NASCAR, there are times Kennedy still misses racing for the checkered flag.

NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar has been fined $50,000 and ordered to attend mandatory cultural-sensitivity and bias-awareness training for comments he made about Mexico City ahead of NASCAR's race weekend there last weekend. The fine and penalty were assessed by his team, Spire Motorsports. NASCAR nor any of his sponsores have yet to weigh in on the issue or assess any of its own possible penalties.
