Goals include helping athletes enhance reaction times, focus, and the ability to track multiple objects at different depths. The program has proven to be popular with IndyCar and NHRA racers. NHRA Top Fuel dragster pilot Ida Zetterström is a believer. So is nearly half of the NTT IndyCar Series field. Stick-and-ball athletes are in the fold too. While Dr. Jerry Petty may have ever been bestowed with the title of "Official Medical Officer of NASCAR," the pioneering neurosurgeon from North Carolina was the go-to medical source of advice and treatments for many teams and drivers over the years. Petty's death was announced this week in a social media post by Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine. Petty was 90 years old.

Hardwick's trip to the top step of the podium was his first in the WEC.

Katherine Legge has taken a lot of heat for what has been a rough start to her NASCAR career. Three races. Three early exits because on on-track racing incidents. The latest on-track contract that sent her to the sidelines early came in Saturday night's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Rockingham. In that race, contact with driver William Sawalich led to a spin that collected veteran and fan favorite Kasey Kahne.

NASCAR 75 YearsServices for veteran Autoweek NASCAR writer Al Pearce will be held in his hometown of Newport News, Va., June 24-25. Pearce, who died on April 9 at the age of 82, authored 13 NASCAR books and covered the NASCAR series for Autoweek for more than five decades. Also a member of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, Pearce set a record for having attended and covered 56 consecutive Daytona 500s. His writing career with Autoweek began in 1973.
