Malcolm won the juniors side of the tournament with an 8-0 win over the Irish Juniors from O'Neill. Post 43 took a while to get going, but once it got the bats started, things really picked up.

    LAUREL — Greg Conn from Wausa and Joe Ortmeier from Osmond have decided to hang up the clipboards, the whistles and the sleepless nights after a combined 83 years in coaching the track programs at their respective schools. Both have spent their entire teaching and coaching careers at the two schools, and both get more "juice" out of the kids than the championships. Greg Conn of Wausa recently announced his plan to retire.

    The Trojans posted 151 points compared to Homer's 75 and the Pendragons accumulated 124.33 compared to Wisner-Pilger's 76.33. Ponca was third, one point behind the Knights in the boys and Homer was third in the girls scoring with 66. Cedar Catholic used its depth and some coaching strategy to come away with its title. "Our depth got us over the hump for our boys," said Cedar Catholic coach, Blair Kalin. "We had a lot of third through sixth-places and that adds up.

    PONCA - Highland Oaks Golf Course was the sire of the 2025 Mid-State Conference Golf Tournament Tuesday and the top two teams battled until the final putt was in the hole before a champion was crowned. When the dust settled on the meet, Norfolk Catholic edged O'Neill, 308-310, to take the title and Knight sophomore, Will Brockhaus used a 68 to take medalist honors by four strokes over another sophomore, Ponca's Landon Uthof.
