CHIVALROUS veteran Jack Mortimer tucked the Queen into her blanket in the royal box outside Buckingham Palace. And the 101-year-old then gave Camilla a kiss on the hand as she left the VIP stand where 31 British Legion veterans had sat with royalty and politicians to mark VE Day 80. THREE pubs will serve pints of beer at 1945 prices today to celebrate VE Day 80 — costing punters just 7.5p each. Landlady Katie Henley expects to sell out of the six casks, or 462 pints, of 4.0% VE Day traditional amber ale within hours of opening at 11am. Katie is the boss of the Warren Bridge Inn and Gresham House Inn, both Dawlish, and The Roundel, Teignmouth, all free houses in Devon. She has paid a local brewery full price to brew the beer and will sell it at almost £5 below normal prices.
