President Donald Trump extended the deadline for China-based ByteDance to divest the US assets of short-video app TikTok by 90 more days. Yesterday (19 June) Trump signed an executive order to give ByteDance its third extension to sell those assets to a US entity. “I’ve just signed the Executive Order extending the Deadline for the TikTok closing for 90 days (September 17, 2025). Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he said in a Truth Social post, which included a copy of the document.

The operator’s mobile command centre sits in a Ford E-350 Econoline van that includes Starlink and OneWeb satellite antennas on the roof.

Intelsat lined up elements including its own standalone (SA) 5G core and partnerships with mobile industry players to provide ubiquitous connectivity across terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks (NTN). The company’s goal is to provide always-on service for connected vehicles using public 5G and IoT connectivity for agriculture, mining and construction in remote locations. For cars, it plans for connectivity to automatically move from cellular to satellite as needed.

Microsoft highlighted its effort to ensure data stored by its cloud customers comply with European Union (EU) sovereignty regulations while also remaining under full control of users. In a blog, it explained all remote access by Microsoft engineers to systems which store and process Europe-based data would “be approved and monitored by European resident personnel in real time and will be logged in a tamper-evident ledger”.

US President Donald Trump and his sons unveiled a mobile service with a plan to offer a Trump-branded gold phone over the coming months, after striking MVNO agreements with three of the country’s major service providers. The Trump Organization stated the Trump Mobile 5G service comes with an unlimited plan at a cost of $47.45 per month, a nod to the fact that Trump is the 45th and 47th US President.
