Meghan Andersen, FairfieldThe Wantagh native, who played for Our Lady of Mercy, is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. The sophomore guard/forward is averaging 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game. Andersen was named an All-MAAC first-team selection this season.

Meet the seven men’s basketball players with Long Island ties who will compete in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Jalen Celestine, BaylorCelestine, a graduate student guard who played his high school ball for Long Island Lutheran, has appeared in 29 games, including nine starts, for the Bears this season and is averaging 7.2 points and 3.5 rebounds. First game: Ninth-seeded Baylor will play No. 8 Mississippi State in an East Region game at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday.

NUNDA - The Keshequa girls have been 'Seven Strong' all season, and they're hoping that can carry them again in Saturday's New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Far West Regional against Section IV champion Frewsburg. Keshequa and head coach Pete Piraino are 0-2 previously in the regional round, but this year's team seems poised to change that.
