Newsday is a daily newspaper in the United States that mainly caters to Nassau and Suffolk counties, as well as the Queens borough of New York City on Long Island. It is available for purchase throughout the New York metropolitan area. As reported in 2009, its weekday circulation reached 377,500, making it the 11th largest newspaper in the country and the leading suburban newspaper. In 2012, Newsday broadened its coverage by adding news from Rockland and Westchester counties to its website. By January 2014, the average circulation of Newsday was 437,000 on weekdays, 434,000 on Saturdays, and 495,000 on Sundays.

The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Tuesday that its consumer price index for the 25-county region that includes the Island rose 3.9% in April compared with a year earlier.
